The key to success in an industry rife with like organizations – as many a businessperson has found – is differentiation. That’s how Apple is dominating the tablet marketplace, how The Drudge Report faces off against Politico and HuffPost, and how Dennis Rodman got people to talk about him.

Thus, new VoIP carrier, the aptly name Voice Carrier, seeks to carve its niche in the fiercely competitive digital voice market. The San Jose, CA-based company provides VoIP systems to businesses ranging from small to medium in size.

“We differentiate ourselves in many ways,” said Voice Carrier CEO Gary Johnson in an interview with TMC, “However, the most important parts of our differentiation to our customers are price, quality and reliability of service. Our pricing model is a little bit different than all of those who are in the business along with us in that we don’t charge for the line or for the extension, we just charge by the concurrent call.”

Voice Carrier subscribers pay by the number of people using the phone simultaneously rather than the number of phone lines subscribed to. If a company had 10 lines set up, but only seven employees were on the phone at any given time during the day, they only pay for those seven calls.

Voice Carrier boasts flexible interoperability, as its technology can be used in conjunction with about any handheld technology.

Voice Carrier’s technology is about 70 percent proprietary and 30 percent open source, with three developed and integrated technologies. 11 patents are pending on its own technologies. They’ve grown at a rate of about 30-40% over the last year, in Johnson’s own estimation.

Said Johnson, “Our plan is to continue to grow and become a true, significant player in the massive switch that is happening right now from landline office technology to voice over IP technology.”

Facebook and Skype users were beyond thrilled when the two companies announced their partnership. The world’s largest social network which already offered video recording on your friend’s walls and in their inboxes looked forward to offering video chat and group video chat capabilities. After all, most of our friends on the social network are the ones we communicate with frequently so why not speak to them face to face without exterior downloads and applications.

The integration struck out at Google’s launch of Google+ which features a video and conference calling aspect called Hangouts. Loyal Skype and Facebook users expected great things from the duo but the new Skype 5.5 for Windows update actually posed a risk of account hijacking. The security flaw occurred because one of the new features fails to filter JavaScript code in Facebook status messages, enabling easy capture of any user’s Skype session cookie. This makes things ridiculously easy for hackers.

Two weeks before the recent update issue, Skype dealt with other problem causing bug on Facebook. The bug for Windows users allowed someone to put malicious content onto a webpage ultimately re-directing users to virus containing websites. So not only are these continuous flaws irritating, they are potentially harmful to systems and devices. The risk of having an account hijacked is also enough to scare all users away so Skype will really have to work out the kinks and prevent future problems if they are aiming for a high volume of users.

Regardless of the flaws being made, Skype is not slowing down when it comes to developing other partnerships and integrating itself deeper into platforms on Windows Phones and Xbox. They are confident in working out current issues and providing stellar VoIP service to those who are interested.

With businesses everywhere looking to cut costs, the first place to start seems to be in the communication department. While this aspect of any business is the most important, owners are tired of paying multiple bills most of which are typically pricy. The internet has opened up many new realms of communication and many are turning to Voice over Internet Protocol services.

Industries looking to streamline communications can now do so with the help of services provided by Twilio. Known for enabling Web services and companies to add voice or SMS options to their list of communication methods, Twilio has now entered the VoIP services space. By offering VoIP recording Twilio hopes to eliminate the complications companies face when using technologies to reach out to customers as well as within the workplace. While cable phone lines are nowhere near extinction, the use of internet enabled features does make certain things easier. Seeing as most office employees already sit in front of computers for a majority of the day, why shouldn’t they be able to utilize them for all purposes?

Because Twilio deems its plan cost effective for developers, they have no fear in going up against currently reigning services such as Skype. By combing VoIP with the other features they already offer, they are hoping to bridge communication gaps within industries while providing stable and efficient services for businesses.

Bluetooth is used often today to carry out the exchanging of data over short distances. This after all, is the true person of Bluetooth technology.

Bluetooth is used often today to carry out the exchanging of data over short distances. This after all, is the true person of Bluetooth technology. The most popular devices that enable Bluetooth are of course, cell phones. This technology benefits users in many different ways. Because of the wireless control between mobile phones and headsets, users can speak hands free especially when they are busy or driving. Two devices can also share files, contacts, and even reminders.

New devices with the technology are always being developed and some interesting benefits provided by Bluetooth come in the form of the Dock-N-Talk device. Today most people are trying to cut out all necessary costs while doing the least to accomplish to the most efficiency. This particular cell phone docking station allows users to turn all of their home’s phones into extension of their cell numbers. This basically means that your cell phone can now really become your main phone. Those who have been desperate to abolish their landlines can finally do so with the use of this dock.

Most of us think know using cell phones for lengthy calls can be highly annoying. Our mobiles aren’t nearly as comfortable as our home phones tend to be. Also, now users can pick up any phone in their house instead of running to towards the sound of a ringing cell usually buried under a pile of objects. If users have Bluetooth phones, an adapter is all that needs to be plugged into the dock unit enabling wireless syncing.

The Dock-N-Talk is highly suitable for those who don’t often use the phones in the homes or apartments and could do with paying less for phone service. Consumers will probably agree that the greatest pro of all is that the unit does not require a monthly payment.

Bluetooth technology is truly being molded into devices that improve our communication tools and make our lives easier. Communication is a major component of our global society and we are always going to look for improvement in the ways we carry out pertinent activities. Bluetooth will probably continue to take us in that direction for the new several years.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, and is the name given for voice communication over the Internet.

The difference between VoIP calling and telephone calling however, is the fact that VoIP takes the audio signals, and converts them into digital ones, before transmitting over the internet (traditional telephones use analogue signals). Since you are bypassing telephone companies by talking over the Internet, this means you can use VoIP for free.

VoIP technology is nothing new. It has been around since the mid 1990’s but due to problems with the bandwidth of internet at that time, it was not quick enough to interpret and transmit a person’s voice without the whole conversation being very…disjointed……..as….I’m tr…..ying..to sho….w here. Nowadays however, the internet has developed to such an extent, coherent conversation is possible through the internet.

This is proving to revolutionise the way the world’s phone networks. AT&T have begun developing a VoIP calling plan, and there are already solely VoIP providers such as Vonage.

In order to use VoIP, you need to have special software. Skype is the most popular, allowing users to video or voice call one another through the Internet completely free of charge. IP phones are also available. IP phone’s act in the same way a normal phone would, but instead connect to your router and use the Internet to transmit digital signal and by passing telephone providers. WiFi phones are also enabling users to make calls from WiFi hotspots. ATA’s (Analogue Telephone Adaptor) are also a way you can enjoy VoIP. These adaptors allow you to connect a standard phone to your computer or internet connection for using VoIP.
